The Pilates Method (mat and reformer) exercise focuses on strength, flexibility, and stability for the whole body.
Mat pilates uses the body's own weight and relationship to the ground to train connection and coordination. Reformer Pilates includes an additional partner to move with offering spring loaded resistance to both challenge and support movement sequences focusing on control and fine tuned muscle engagement.
PILATES MAT V. REFORMER

The Gyrotonic and Gyrokinesis methods address the entire body through sequences that focus on rhythm, flow, circularity, and synchronization throughout the body. The methods gently stimulate the nervous system, improve sense feedback for balance, promote an increase of range of motion and stabilization throughout all joints, and open energetic pathways.
Gyrotonic exercise uses a variety of specialized equipment with both spring and pulley-system resistance. Gyrokinesis exercise uses a stool/chair and mat making it very accessible for at-home or travel training.

METHODS

Dance offers opportunities to enhance sense of embodiment, expression, and connection to environment and others.
Improvisational practices, choreographic approaches to movement, and experiential practices support the creation of new pathways throughout the mind-body connection.
Codified techniques such as ballet, modern techniques (i.e. Graham, Limón, Cunningham), and contemporary approaches offer additional frameworks to explore within.
